So I now have 2 weeks and 1 day until my wedding day. To be honest I don’t feel as stressed as I probably should be, but I do feel slightly nervous. I had this odd feeling that I have forgotten something, but maybe that’s because I still have so much to do. It really doesn’t feel like I’m getting married in 15 days, I’d all rather odd. I do think it will sink in once Christmas is over and all the family have arrived.
A few months ago I started keeping all my DIY items and wedding accessories in our 2nd bedroom, but now that our guests are on their way we have moved everything into our bedroom. I like to think of this corner of the room as ‘OPERATION WEDDING’. It’s a very organised mess.
(Don’t judge our pink wall, it’s actually very cool ;-))
I will also post a few more pictures soon, once the DIY is 100% finished.
Thought I’d share a few tips for anyone doing lots of DIY…
- Start early… earlier the better I say!
- Always give yourself extra time. If you add up all the time after work and over the weekends that you actually have for DIY, it works out to be hours rather than weeks. (and you know DIY is very time consuming)
- Get friends and family involved to help. Extra hands are always welcome.
- Always buy a little extra, whether its fabric, name tags, lace or even wood. You never know if your number of guests will increase, something might go wrong, or at the last minute you change your design and add 2 lace hearts instead of 1. (I had to go back twice for more white lace)
Full feature coming next year… I think I’m going to try and write an A-Z guide to DIY. What do you think? 😉
Back later my lovelies…
