The week before last I gave you an update on planning my wedding, and I mentioned I had my first big bridal break down. (with lots of tears) If you missed it click *here* It’s funny because I spoke to a friend who got married earlier this year and she told me that the bridal breakdowns are totally normal. It was quite reassuring to know that I’m not the only one who has shed a few tears.
Anyway, here’s a brief update on the other bits…
The Dress…
The dress is almost perfect, I went back to see Anne (From The Bridal Room) on Thursday morning and the fit was perfect, we just need to add some padding to the top part 😉 But I’m so happy with it and when I put it on, I felt amazing. That’s one stress done and dusted. Wahoooo!!!!
Shoes…
I now have heel stoppers that I bought from Denise, so no need to worry about getting grass stains on my new Manolo’s. Check out my blog from earlier today… *here*
DIY…
Most of my DIY is now done, all the crates are finished and I only have a bit of touching up to do. I just need to finish my thank you cards and a few name cards. Ohhh and also my table seating plan, that’s going to take some effort as I’m printing out all the photos and will have to get pretty crafty. Good job I like this arty stuff isn’t it 😉
Menu’s and food choices…
Amazingly most of our guests replied to our menu options within 2 days, which is a massive help and also means we don’t need to spend time following up and chasing people for their options. I guess it’s a good sign that everyone replied so quickly.(Oh and I promise to share the menu this week)
Music…
The band (The Maplejacks) are booked, and ready to rock n roll! I’ll be meeting them on the 16th at The Montgomerie to go through our wedding day schedule. Other than the band we are just going to have an ipod playing 9which the band will manage), I don’t think we need a DJ. Plus this way we get to control exactly what we want played, so we just need to create the play list, organise the PA system with the hotel, and we are set!
Flowers…
I went to see Rania at Olivier Dolz today and saw a sample table set up, it was lovely but it needs to be bigger, lots more willow and a few different types of flowers. But so far so good. What do you think? Oh, and the table will be different FYI 😉
Oh, and on Friday I mentioned in my weekly roundup that I was feeling rather festive. Nathan and I had a holiday party for some close friends and overall it was a great turn out. I made cupcakes, gingerbread cookies, pumpkin pie and lots of savory goodies too. Here’s a few images that might put you in the mood…
And if that didn’t then you’re in for a treat tomorrow. Tomorrow I’ll be showing you how to create a winter wonderland themed wedding, and how to add a touch of it to your dining room table. Yay for December! x
