So big news today on MLW…we are incredibly honoured to announce that Joelle is on the 2016-17 International Advisory Board for the International Academy of Wedding and Event Planning – yayyyyy! This is a pretty big deal. The board is made up of 29 wedding and event experts from around the world who will lend their knowledge, expertise and talents to the Academy of Wedding and Event Planning and its various campuses including the UK, Australia, New Zealand, the Caribbean, UAE and the United States.
We are also pretty excited as we get to share this role with some of our super lovely wedding industry experts and friends right here in the UAE, including Claire Ebbs from Aghareed,
Rio from Bride Club ME and Mennat from Cloud Nine – go girls!
So what does this mean?
Well, being on the board means that we help students of the academy through such things as work experience and internship opportunities, mentoring, advice and tips and that we also provide a little bit of input on course curriculum and content with the aim of making these courses relevant for those looking for a career in the wedding and event industry.
This industry just seems to keep flourishing both within the UAE and internationally and it really is such an exciting time to get into this field. We couldn’t be more excited to have a chance to provide a stepping for those looking to make their mark. We truly believe that these kind of courses offered by the academy are not only an invaluable experience but are revolutionary for the industry as a whole.

The International Academy of Wedding and Event Planning is an online educational training company started in 2004 by Kylie Carlson with intention and subsequent accomplishment to create a learning institute that would bring professional training and accreditation to wedding planners, event planners, event designers and wedding stylists. Today the Academy has online campuses in Australia, Caribbean, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States of America with an internationally recognised accreditation program.
