Last week I caught up with Gregory at Blue Eye Picture. As he walked through the lobby of The Address Dubai Marina, I thought to myself ‘wow, he is one fashionable photographer’. Wearing a bright yellow blazer and turned up shorts, you really couldn’t miss him. I think we definitely share that ‘arty’ flare for fashion and creative nonsense. 🙂
We usually meet up every few months, and catch up on what I’ve been up to on the blog. It’s nice, I feel like he’s one the vendors that I will always work with, he’s loyal, he’s friendly, and he’s an awesome photographer. Before I left I asked him what he thinks I should do, to progress, to grow and to take MLW to the next stage… and his reply was ‘keep it personal’. And of course I replied with ‘always’. MLW is my baby, it’s my diary, it’s a place where I can obsess about weddings and not come across as a crazy person {because I’m already married obviously} But it got me thinking, not many of you know lot know the real Gregory… so, lets change that.
Here’s what you should know…
Favorite colour: I like all pastels and bright colors. This kind of colors suit me, my personality and my visage.
Favorite place: I love Dubai and recently I have  discovered Seychelles. Dubai from Luxury and Seychelles from pristine homeless beaches.
Favorite food: My favorite food is breakfast toast from organic brown bread with guacamole avocado and poached eggs on top.
Favorite restaurant in Dubai: Chris & Ruth’s , La Petit Maison and daily Yo Roll for my sushi
Best movie: Once upon a time in America, Gladiator and recently Games of Thrones
Do you have any hobbies? My profession comes from my hobbies so still I love what I am doing but recently I discovered the gym and all around healthy style life.
Where were you born? I was born in a small town in Poland.
How many years have you lived in Dubai? I am in Dubai since 2008 when I came here for my first exhibition, as residence and founder of Blue Eye Picture 4 years now.
When is your next vacation? Right now I am on my vacation; every Ramadan I stay on Seychelles where we set up our office there for all couple who chosen Seychelles as destination wedding location.
Why do you love your job? As a destination wedding photographer I have great opportunity to work with all nations, cultures  of this world in many corners of this planet. I love people so being in the one of the most intimate moments in their life is a big challenge and the same award for me. I can see laughter and happiness, even tears , all those emotion which come from wedding. But  the greatest moment of my professional life is when people open wedding albums from picture we have taken and I can see their tears of happiness, then I know my work makes sense.
Just after I sent these questions to Gregory I discovered that he was recently interviewed by Creative Coach Seline Shenoy. If you have a few minutes take a look at this video… it’s actually rather cute. {and seriously… this man can dress} 🙂
