All you need is love… ♥
The beautiful Fiona & Mark got married on the 27th October 2012. They got married at The Park Hyatt with just over 100 guests to celebrate by their side. If you want to read about Fiona’s story check out my previous posts *here* & *here*
But for now here’s a few questions that might make you go awhhhhh….
How did you feel just before you saw your groom?
I felt extremely calm and very deeply happy. It’s hard to describe. I think maybe I was just completely at peace with myself. The whole morning had been so fun in the bridal suite with lots of girls getting hair and makeup done. It was the perfect pre wedding party! I was so excited to get out there and see so many friends and family. It’s a wonderful experience, you need to soak it up as much as you can and enjoy the process. I knew I was right where I was meant to be at that moment in time. It was perfect.
Did everything go to plan?
I had expected Bridezilla to emerge on the day but she didn’t! Everything went absolutely to plan. We were very organized and had a lot of help so there were no hiccups on the day. Even if there were I was so happy I don’t think it would have even bothered me!
Is there anything you would change?
The weather was unseasonably warm for Dubai so I would maybe have turned the heat down a little. But at least we didn’t have to worry about rain! Other than that, I wouldn’t have changed a thing. We loved every moment.
Your best moments?
One of the best moments was entering the Palm Garden for dinner once we had done all the photos. We came in down two separate stair cases and met in the middle. The piper was piping us in and the whole wedding party was clapping and cheering. It was the most amazing feeling. We knew the party was on then and the fun was really about to kick off!
Credits for anyone in particular?
The biggest credit has to go to our very good friends and wedding planners Dee Thomsen and Dom Nieper of Élan Productions (elanmiddleeast.com) . They literally rocked our wedding and without them we would have been lost. They worked so hard to make the day so perfect for us, but not only that, they made the planning process so much fun and extremely relaxed. Of course I would never have got through any of it without my bridesmaids and Mark is the same with his best men. They were the most amazing support up to, and on the day. We are blessed to be surrounded by so many strong, loving friends and family.
Any advice for a bride-to-be?
This is the biggest day of your life. Its not just about the day, it’s about the planning up to it and the lifetime ahead you have together. Really enjoy making this your own and have fun with it. There’s no wrong answer or restrictions on what you feel will make it memorable for you two. Relax, enjoy, breathe, laugh and try to be present for every single second of the day. It will disappear before you know it. 6 words you will repeat again and again after it’s all over “I want to do it again!!”
Awhhh this makes me so excited for my own wedding day. I love a good wedding. (obviously lol) OK… scroll now for lots of lovely wedding day photos…. ♥
