5 Questions with Paula Scalco {Dubai wedding photographer}

Hello Lovelies,
Earlier this summer I posted a few fun blogs about some of lovely vendors, and today I’m back with one of my newest wedding chums; Paula Scalco. This Brazilian beauty is a happy go lucky young lady married to an Irish boy. She’s been living in Dubai for the past 7 years and once upon a time she flew flew for a well known airline, as did many of my other lovely vendors. She’s a lifestyle photographer with a passion for detail. She loves capturing love stories, turning real moments into tangible memories. Her style is soft, dreamy and romantic and I have a little feeling she’s going to be getting rather popular this wedding season.

Do you have any big plans for wedding season starting in October?
Right now things are very exciting for me. I’ve been receiving lots of enquiries for venues and themes that I previously haven’t shot. A wedding in Burj Al Arab with a Persian theme had me grinning from ear to ear!
What’s been the highlight of the last 6 months?

I’ve met some fantastic vendors over the past six months, some of whom have gone on to become friends. The pinnacle for me has been the styling shoots that I organised that not only produced stunning shots but were great fun! My background in architecture and ever growing collection of vintage items ( don`t tell my husband;), helped make these photos unique and show my personality.
What have you be doing this summer?
I’ve just returned from a two month holiday in Brazil, Ireland and a cruise around Norway. I’ve started catching up on what I have missed in Dubai, seeing my friends and began working on some exciting projects.
What will you be packing for your summer holidays?
I’m still trying to unpack! So cute dresses and Brazilian Havianas for the summer, as it is hot in Dubai!
Any advise for brides getting married next season?
Having got married in Dubai I understand how difficult it can be without your family to organise such an important event. My advice would be to stay true to yourself. Being such a multicultural city Dubai has many options and you can easily get waylaid. Identify what is important to you and the style of your wedding and focus on that. I love DIY and believe they make every wedding look more cute and special, so do get involved. Above all enjoy your day and have those that matter to you by your side.
