8 ways to make your wedding eco friendly ♥

1. Use recycled card when printing your wedding invitations
You can find recycled card in places like paperchase at Mall of the Emirates, but for larger quantities I’d suggest asking someone like Natalie @ Elizabeth Andres or Ritu @ Creative Box for advice. They are the paper girls, and they would be the ones to know where you can find recycled paper in Dubai.
2. Use local produce
Depending on what sort of wedding you’re having, you might want to look into using fresh and local produce in your menu. I went to Ripe this weekend and stocked up on fresh veggies. I’m giving myself a health kick and plan to use my blender to make smoothies at least twice a week.

3. Recycling jars and tin cans
Jars and cans can be used for DIY decorations for your wedding day, and you can keep them after! Yes, I know I’ve said it before, and I will say it again… I love jars! Recycling is awesome, and every  little bit helps. You might not think you’re doing much for the environment but I’m pretty sure green peace would be happy with our efforts. It’s a start right?!

4. Send out save the dates by email.
This will save on paper, and will save you a few Dirhams in the process. You’ll also save on stamps and time. 🙂
5. Using locally grown plants to decorate your wedding venue
If you’re thinking about a green wedding, why not go all the way and buy local plants, you can find some amazing (and cheap) plants at garden centers around Dubai.
6. Make your favors green
I’ve seen various wedding where the couple give seeds, or small plants to guests as favors. It’s a fabulous idea, as it’s something that’s good for the environment and you get watch your ‘favor’ grow! Just make sure you buy something that’s going to survive the hot weather or opt for a house plant instead.

7. Buy a vintage dress.
This may be a little hard for a bride-to-be living in Dubai, as there are not that many/ if any places where you can buy a Vintage wedding dress. It’s a nice thought though… 😉
8.Buy things you can keep after your wedding
Buy decor items for your wedding that you can keep forever, such as photo frames, black boards or drink dispensers. That little extra money being spent on quality will go a long way.
Happy planning lovelies x
