This wedding is not your typical wedding. The bride is not wearing a white dress, nor is she wearing ivory satin heels teamed with a handmade veil. She’s one of these rare breeds of women that can wear just about anything and look simply angelic. A bohemian beauty. I want to congratulate her for having a beautiful wedding in the most untraditional way. The handmade décor, the woodland setting, it’s everything that Dubai is not and for this reason I’ve fallen in love with it. It’s nice to be able to feature a wedding that inspires you. Now if only we could build a woodland in Dubai?
María and José married on the 4th October, 2014 at Finca Prados Riveros with 85 guests and possibly the cutest pug I’ve seen in a while.
Words from the bride & groom…
Since we decided to get married (in May) we have always been clear as we wanted it to be: always a party full of love with the people we most want, simple, informal and very personal.
The first super important ingredient was “where”. The venue, Prados Riveros in Rascafría, offered us a unique landscape that we loved, and has a stunning farmhouse, very well equipped, where you stay throughout the weekend, so the wedding actually began Friday and ended up on Sunday. They were also in charge of the decoration and super attentive.
The catering was cocktail type and was made by El Lebrillo. Besides being super professional and have an impeccable personal, beautifully cooked, including: ceviche, roast beef and super beautiful dessert buffet that is a visual spectacle. The menu of appetizers, rice and meat cared everyone without forgetting the vegetarians, and we appreciated that very much.
Live music: Niña Vintage were spectacular and we all fell in love. They played in three parts during the cocktail and gradually they were also simmering a very special relaxing atmosphere, giving joy and great affection that was the most beautiful of all the wedding … Other than friends, they are a great group and we can not stop recommending.
The dress code: we ask our guests to come as they would like and we would do the same. We wanted all were comfortable and it was not a roll or terror or a necessary expense.
Photo: wonderful work of Leafhopper. Blanca and David are charming, attentive and with a sensitivity to take pictures that won us from the beginning. They captured moments of all, the setting, the details, the guests … and the memory is for all who live in the wedding party.
Us: we wanted to find something special, but something to define us. And we find Anna, lanthane that we design partnerships (in white gold Josema, pink, white and mine), we love that are different and do such a good match. Also they are not recognizable as wedding rings.
Our costumes are chosen together, subtract surprise but adds complicity and loved doing so.
I wanted a special vintage piece, and found through the online store Etsy, it is fantastic! My dress is a Vogue Couturier Design 60 and bought in Miniola Vintage, was a somewhat risky bet but arrived quickly and I was perfect, he had found it! (I leave the link if you’re interested dress description). The cut, sleeves, printing are wonderful, and it’s skirt. The belt is personal contribution to promote a Japanese air given off … My dress shoes lemon yellow are Vialis. And the crown of fresh carnations is Loreto and Mariluz of brumalis who studied the flowers in my dress, flower colors and selected also resistant ones.
For invitations have designer, artist and friend Miguel Ángel Benjumea who he was inspired by origami. We did in the online format and also designed a newsletter and some badges.
We also give handmade soaps that makes my mother.
Personal touch: the invasion of jellyfish are my work is an art installation of bubble wrap, metal and red thread that already have a long history and a prize and they could not miss Lovely Vendors…
