A new My Lovely Wedding

Well folks, this is my first post on the new website. My Lovely Wedding has had a little facelift and, well it’s more grown up. It’s more ‘me’. MLW is now about what I do for you, which is styling. It’s my passion, my focus and as much as I love my blog, this is what I want it to be. The blog part will continue on as always with 3 posts a week. (Sorry for the lack of blogging last week, we had a few internal issues to fix on the website) You’ll be seeing more of my work, more of my family life and more of what I love. I’ve also made a decision to limit my services to only styling weddings.
A few close friends have asked me the same questions recently, and the answers may be interesting for you. With the launch of my new brand identity I thought I’d give myself a pop quiz.
Do you still like what you do? (Blogging + styling)
YES! I love my blog, I love working with amazing clients and now wedding season has kicked in I’m ready for it. I’m pining for the stressful set ups and everything in-between. Bring it on!
Is it harder working with a baby?
OMG yes! But only because my time is limited. However, over the past few weeks I’ve realized that I’ve become more efficient with my time. I feel more organised and prepared. Despite being ‘Mummy’ all day, with a few hours of work time thrown in when I can, I like having 2-3 hours to have dinner by my computer and focus on work. I feel productive and focused, which is exciting but until about 6 weeks ago I didn’t feel this way. To be honest I can’t remember the last time I watched and really chilled out.
What made you want to rebrand?
A few things happened. I had a baby, I hired a friend to help me blog, and I grew as did MLW. At the beginning of the year I knew I had to make some changes, and I thought that having my friend Amy to help blog would make life easier. I’d be able to focus on styling, and being a Mum and I could continue to blog 5 times a week with her help. Over the course of a few months we realised it wasn’t going to work, for various reasons which I won’t go into. But It made me realise that I actually missed blogging, and connecting with my vendors. So I decided to cut back on the blog, and refocus my energy on styling. With over 1000 blog posts about vendors, the wedding industry in Dubai and real life bridal stories, I knew that the ‘new brides’ wouldn’t be short on content if I cut down the weekly blog posts to 3 per week. I need MLW to be manageable for me, and my new role as a Mummy. So after a long chat with Natalie, my branding guru we started working on a new identity for MLW.
What’s new for MLW, other than the new branding and website?
This season I have some fabulous clients booked up and I’m super excited to get styling after taking a break over the summer. I’m also in the process of putting together a rentals catalogue for my brides and industry vendors. I’m going meeting new vendors, and trying to blog a bit about motherhood too.
