Morning, Lovelies,
I’m starting the day off with a blog that is partly written by myself (obviously) and partly written by my friend Hariska, the wedding planner at Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi. It is not unusual to hear great stories from wedding planners, from the bride and from friends and family, but the only side of the story that often gets missed is the venues. I have been working with Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi for nearly a year now, and I know from experience how much the team there care for their brides. Like me, the events team loves weddings and have a serious weak spot for the “pretty”.
Mennat, wedding planner and owner of Cloud 9 Weddings and Events, organised Nadeem and Mirella’s wedding back in September this year. Full of gorgeous details, she managed to incorporate vintage and rustic touches into an elegant ballroom – not an easy thing to do. The rustic vintage thing is perfect for outdoor weddings, but can be tricky to pull off in a five-star hotel’s glamorous ballroom. My favourite bit is probably the candy bar. Stacked wood squares create shelves for candy and treats, and white it is not rustic wood, the beautifully styled shabby chic effect works perfectly.
What the venue had to say…
I met Nadeem and Mirella in May 2014. It was a great pleasure to assist them during the wedding planning process. I can recall the most exciting part during the menu tasting, as Nadeem proposed quite an elaborate menu, but we were accompanied by the talented Culinary Team here at Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi and it was a relief to see both the bride and groom satisfied with the final menu.
Closer to the wedding, I communicated with the groom’s father, who was very cooperative, kind and thoughtful in discussing the most suitable arrangements for the menu, beverage, programme and even logistic requests during the wedding.
The venue set-up was very sleek and smooth, because the number of guests was just ideal for our venue, and the decoration was planned to be clean cut. Having Mennat of Cloud 9 as the wedding organiser just made the day even easier. The subtle atmosphere of the venue emerged well through the simple and elegant set-up for this wedding.
I get quite a lot of excitement every time we get to the peak of the night, the wedding cake cutting ceremony. It has always been a remarkable few seconds to present the wedding cake, especially to the bride. Some brides are very particular about the design of their wedding cake and it is the passion of our Pastry Team to blend the design proposed and in-house creativity into reality.
You can contact the lovely events team, Clementine and Hariska at wedding.abudhabi.park@hyatt.com if you are interested in getting married at Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island.
