Adeline's First Birthday – A Peter Rabbit Themed Party

Even before Adeline was born I would day dream about styling her birthday party. Turning 1 seems like a pretty big deal and I knew I wanted to do something special for her, as most parents do. My Mum bought her the set of Beatrix Potter books, and it all started from there, plus I love rabbits and the idea of styling a party with carrots sort of excited me. So we picked a spot at our favourite park and planned the party for Friday 10^th March. (Her actual birthday was on the 9^th March) Luckily the weather is so good in March here in Dubai.

We invited our close friends and Adeline’s baby friends and spent 3 hours relaxing in the park. It was such a lovely afternoon and everyone seemed really chilled. The set up was easy as I had a team of people to help (My Mum, husband and Adeline’s Nanny Rupa) The week leading up to the party I was in ‘work’ mode but had so much fun styling the party on the day.

We rented wood rustic tables from Party Social and wood pallets and floor cushions so people didn’t have to sit on the grass. Wood pallets make the best coffee tables! I bought Adeline a lovely lace tipi for her birthday which we used too, and I brought all of her bunny toys along for fun.

I loved using vegetables to decorate the tables, and adding wood stumps gave it a more woodland feel. My good friend Lilliam at E-Walls made a beautiful welcome sign for me and also laser cut Adeline’s name in wood as a gift. I ordered the flowers wholesale from Firenze Flora and used my own jars and bottles to fill them. I like to pretend I’m a florist on occasions.

Most of the food was organised by myself and my Mum, and we got some savoury nibbles from Lime Tree Café in Jumeirah. My friend Ana at Nice Ribbon Atelier made the cake and bunny cookies. Ana is amazing, she never fails to impress me with her cake making skills.
