A little under a year ago I attended the launch of Aghareed at Galleries Lafayette, and soon they will be celebrating their one year anniversary. Over the past year they have worked hard to position themselves as a company that brides trust, and a company that brides can go to for everything from A-Z. From one man’s dream, to one year on – Aghareed have slowly but surely made their mark on the UAE’s wedding Industry.
Clare Ebbs, wedding planner and owner of ‘The Perfect Moment’ joined Aghareed as Managing Director back in the spring and since then they have been swamped with weddings left right and center. It’s no doubt her exquisite skills for organising and planning weddings that make Clare Ebbs and Aghareed the perfect match.
The team at Aghareed can help you with decor, flowers, the little details and of course full wedding planning or on the day coordination. It’s hard to nail down what they can offer you in one blog because every bride is different, and every wedding is unique. Basically they can work around most budgets to make your wedding as lovely as possible.
As you may know last month was Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and in honour of this great cause the girls at Aghareed turned the showroom at Galleries Lafayette into a pink wonderland. They also ran a competition giving a away a luxury ‘Pink Package’ to a breast cancer survivor.
Aileen Ante was named as the lucky winner of the package. The Philippines national was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2013 and fought the condition until she was given the all-clear earlier this year. Her full day of indulgence commenced with a massage, which was followed by a beauty treatment and professional hair styling at De La Mer Day Spa. She was then driven to Enchanté Studios for a tea party and a photo shoot that would capture her glamorous make-over for posterity.
“Aghareed was both privileged and honoured to have been able to provide Aileen with a Pink Package luxury pampering afternoon as a part of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness month,” said Clare Ebbs, Managing Director, Aghareed. “She is truly an inspiration to all women. Her story is one of great fortitude and resilience in the face of adversity. It was a pleasure to have shared a special day with her,” she added.
For her part, Aileen, who is engaged to be married, reported that she had a thoroughly enjoyable day being spoiled by Aghareed. She spoke of how great it was to be made to feel special following a harrowing few months in her life.
“This was such an amazing experience after the rough year that I went through – it made me feel beautiful and glamorous again,’ said Aileen. “My whole family saw me without hair, as did my fiancé. He told me that I was still beautiful and these were the most important words I needed to hear during this difficult time, especially as I had lost my confidence,” she added.
This story is so close to my heart because only a few weeks ago I found out that my Aunty Sue, who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer last year has been given the all clear. It broke my heart that I was so far away throughout her treatment, but thanks to my amazing family and the support of my VERY amazing Uncle Peter they got through it together.
I guess I’m going to end this blog big wedding hugs and get well wishes to all the women going through treatment now. My thoughts are with you.
