I have to admit that for the longest time I thought I had already blogged about this wedding, until I realised I hadn’t. Anyway, let me take you back to December 2014 when I styled Micaela and Gustaf’s wedding at the Ritz Carlton, JBR. Believe it or not they flew all the way from Sweden to get married in Dubai. We pretty much planned the wedding via email and It was only a week before that I met them at the venue and joined them for their food tasting while talking decor. I was amazed at how much trust they had for me, and with that in mind I was even more keen to make their wedding perfect.

I worked with Vintage Bloom to decorate the arch and table decor, and the colour theme was yellow and green. Until this day this has to be one of my favorite arches ever. The colours, the flowers and the way it sits under the large tree on the lawn at the Ritz just makes it ever so pretty. I’m also in love with the brown Tiffany chairs, which were painted just for the wedding. After the ceremony followed a casual but fun cocktail reception on the lawn. I set up a table using milk bottles and a drink dispenser, it was eventually filled with lemonade.

The bride loved lace and we kept the table decor simple by using lace overlays, a green floral runner and added burlap pockets for cutlery. With only a wedding of 28 guests it was easy to add little touches without going over board on the budget. They asked for a relaxed atmosphere and all they wanted to do was party… so we hired a jukebox. It was awesome.

The lovely and very talented Maria Sundin did the photography, so I knew we would get some incredible images and as you can see below that’s exactly what she did. It also helped that she is form Sweden so she was able to mingle with the guests and blend into the small intimate wedding.

I suppose looking back I have to say that I really am very lucky to be able to style weddings and create beautiful memories for couples getting married in the UAE. I seriously love my job, and even though I’ll be taking a break for a few months to be mummy, I’m excited for my next wedding in October 2016.
