If you checked into My Lovely Wedding before the weekend then you’ll know that BRIDE Dubai and BRIDE Abu Dhabi are just around the corner as part of 2016’s exciting line up of wedding fairs and exhibitions that will help and inspire all our beautiful brides. (P.S. If you missed our save the dates post with all the details then you can check it out here). Back to BRIDE…we got the scoop on exactly what the team have lined up for this year and we thought we would be nice and share it with you all wonderful people.
As Joelle mentioned, BRIDE is getting a makeover this year with a brand new management team which means exciting new things are in store and it is expected to have a lot more on offer for expat brides which is music to our ears. 2016 will be the debut year for Suzy Pallett, the woman behind the fair, who has over 15 years’ experience in delivering large scale consumer events across the globe including directing events for the royal family in the UK – very fancy!
BRIDE Dubai will take place 10-13 February at Dubai World Trade Centre / BRIDE Abu Dhabi will take place 13-16 April at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
As always, BRIDE 2016 will showcase wedding planners and suppliers from the region for a close-up look at what’s on offer. However I have to be honest, the part I am most excited about is the show’s Delightful Destinations area which aims to cover everything you need to plan the perfect honeymoon as well as highlighting idyllic wedding destinations. Visitors can expect to find luxury all-inclusive honeymoons to romantic city breaks with brands such as H Hotel and Conrad Hotel (one of our favourites!) taking part. I also heard a rumour there would be a section on Seychelles which I am definitely going to try and drag my hubby along to for “research”.
BRIDE is known for fashion and this year is no exception with fashion shows featuring international as well as regional designers, demos and talks and a pop-up couture area. Designers and well-known names on the agenda are Amato, Essa, Ezra, Dar Sara, Jacy Kay, Abeer Al Suwaidi, Ayesha Depala, Ritu Kumar and Crystal House.
Something different which caught our eye and new this year is the Recycle Runway Awards that will offer aspiring talent the opportunity to show and get recognized for their work with recycled and up-cycled fashion. Kinda cool huh? Judges on the panel will include fashion blogger Tala Samman and TV presenter Aishwarya Ajit with the winners being announced on the closing day of the show.
