Butterflies on the beach – a Dubai wedding

Today I’m sharing a very special wedding with you, not only because the bride planned her wedding with the help of My Lovely Wedding.com, but she used my recommended suppliers…. the people I trust most with the happiness of my brides in Dubai.  Monica is Spanish and her husband Salvatore is Italian. The happy couple met in Saudi Arabia and married earlier this year on the 16th May 2013. They had a beach side wedding at The Ritz Carlton on a bright and warm Dubai afternoon.
The Vision for the day…
White with a touch of Tiffany blue & butterflies. The butterfly theme had a reason; transformation to the better theoretical beautiful and expanding our wings into life.
Finding My Wedding Dress…
My wedding dress was made for me by a Spanish designer.
 My Lovely Accessories…
All of my accessories were diamonds 🙂 My husband gave me a Bvlgari ring, and my family surprised me with diamonds earrings and a ring from Cartier. I also wore a butterfly necklace and bracelet from Salvatores family.
Groom’s Threads…
The groom wore a casual white linen suit from Armani.
My Lovely bridesmaids…
Lucha, Susu, little einstine, Munmun, Fufu , Aranzazu and Ruti were all bridesmaids, and the maid of honour and head bridesmaid were Carolina and Sara my sisters. They all looked amazing!

The Planning process…

I enjoyed it so much, but at times it drove me insane because I had to travel several times myself to find vendors, and then give direction. But being an event organizer and a control freak I had to do it … It was the best part of the whole wedding 🙂
 Budget…
Initially 10,000 euros but in reality it went up to 30,000! It was a lot but totally worth it for my wedding day.
No. of Guests…
We invited 100 guests, and 80 guests attended. Our beloved friends and family flew in from Spain, Italy, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Sweden, South Africa, Jordan, Lebanon , Czech Republic, Slovak Republic and Finland. We were so lucky that so many of our closest friends and family to be with us on our wedding day. This was our wedding gift – their presence.
The Flowers & Decor…
There were no flowers, but instead we used wooden sticks with butterflies on them in white. They were so pretty. My Mom and Sister made a huge paper flower on each table which later the brides maids collected, and it was the bouquet I threw to the single ladies. It was a really fun DIY touch to the wedding. I also had a few white peonies for my hand bouquet and the arch was made of flowers too.
The Cake…
We had a cup cake tower! We had chocolate fudge for my friends and 2 layers for us and our family. We also had carrot cake too. It was so yummy!
Our Honeymoon…
We haven’t had one yet because we’ve just moved abroad. But we will once we get settled and feel like we need a vacation. 😉

Favorite moments…
The Chinese lanterns at the end of the night was marvelous. Sarah C captured some amazing photos of the lanterns going into the sky. It was really special.
Advice for other couples…
Choose your wedding planner carefully… They either make it or break it! Organize with enough time. No matter how much time you think you have, it’s never quite enough. Things will go wrong, but you manage it and no matter what happens, it will turn out ok on the day. Think positive and just enjoy your friends and family being with you. It’s your day… everything else is not important 🙂
Credit for friends and family…
Every one who came to our wedding day and wore white. It was fab to see everyone wearing white on the beach. And a extra thank you to those guests who were on time 🙂 My bridesmaids the “butterflies” did a great job specially with the photo booth, and researching suppliers. The bare foot sandals were exquisite (we gave them away to all the ladies) Oh and thanks to my sister for the touch of Tiffany blue, it was her idea.
If it wasn’t for my Mom and Sister being so patience during the month prior to the wedding (this was my total bridezilla phase)  I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish anything.. They were positive, supportive, very patient very very  🙂 lol.
My hubby said: it’s our day … It’s your day … I want you to be the happiest bride on earth, so do as u please 🙂 and I did exactly what I wanted it. It was awesome – love him. <3
I’m so thankful to everyone who helped and supported me…
Credits to the suppliers…
The wedding planners from Event Factory were great on the decoration side of things. They added extra touches to my wedding day that I really loved, and they put together a really cool candy bar too.
The best suppliers were the photographer Sarah C, and the videographer Lucy.  And of course your blog from where I not only got I aspiration but loads of contacts.  🙂
Thank you xx
