Afternoon my lovelies,
Since I have quite a few photographers on My Lovely Wedding, who are all very talented and slightly unqiue in their own way, I figured it would be a good idea to put a list of questions together to ask your photographer.
The one piece of advice I give my brides is… ‘work with people you like’. It’s so important hire vendors you like, and feel comfortable around. There are a lot of talented people out there, but sometimes personalities clash and not everyone can get along with everyone. That’s just life I guess.. but it’s your wedding and it should be personal.
So, what I’m basically trying to say is, ask lots of questions, have coffee with them and basically get to know your photographer, (even just a little bit) before booking them. I promise this will make a big difference on the day… especially if you’re not used to your own paparazzi! Getting to know your photographer can really help you relax in front of the camera.
Things to ask your photographer…
What sort of camera do you use? Are you photographing up close and personal or will you be photographing from a distance?
The reason I say this is because lots of brides don’t want a photographer in their face the whole day, but some do. I guess there are some brides who love the camera, and thrive to be the center of attention. Of course you should be, your the bride but.. for girls like me, I’m not so confident in front of the camera and much happier to blend in with the crowd.
What’s included in the photography package? Do you get an engagement shoot? Or a fancy leather bound photo album?
Can your photographer also act as a photo booth photographer for an hour or two? (this might save you a few dirhams)
Ask them what their background is, and look through lots of their previous weddings. You’ll get a good feeling from them by discussing their previous work.
So, if your looking for a wedding photographer check out some of my lovely vendors… they really are lovely! 😉
