Kourosh and Ghina got married on the 7th March, 2014 at The Address Montgomerie, Emirates Hills. On the day of their wedding, the sun was shining and both the bride and groom were busting with excitement. I’ve never seen a bride so happy, and yet so relaxed at the same time.
This gorgeous couple mean so much to me, and after spending so much time with them before the wedding, I knew that this day bring a tear to my eye. A happy tear of course 🙂 It’s one of the many perks of my job… I get to work with lovely people, and in the end.. just make them happy. You have no idea how rewarding it really is. #Ilovemyjob
The wedding in details…
Number of guests…
We had around 140 guests in total. Many of them flew in from the UK, Lebanon and other cities around the Middle East. We were so happy to have all our friends with us on our wedding day.
The budget…
We didn’t really have a budget – we just got things we wanted and made sure to keep saving. 🙂 We did spend a lot but it was worth every penny.
The dress & shoes…
My dress was from Christos Dress at Frost Boutique, and my shoes were a mix of Chanel heels and Charlotte Olympia Kitty Flats. {I know Ghina pretty well now, and I can honestly say that this she obsessed bride made sure her feet were the prettiest there}Â
Finding my wedding dress…
The easiest thing ever – first dress I tried, knew it was what I wanted – bought it instantly from Frost in Dubai.
Beautiful bridesmaids…
I had four bridesmaids; my sister and three best friends. They all looked so gorgeous!
My lovely flowers…
I think they were possibly the most beautiful flowers and centerpieces I have ever seen, and they were by Mayflower!
Planning our wedding…
Almost 8 months of planning, some DIY work, brainstorming and meetings to get to what we actually wanted.
The ceremony…Â
The ceremony was conducted by one of the groomsmen – no readings only speeches by my sister, Kourosh’s sister, my bridesmaids, the best man and the groom. Processional music was played by our friends Steve Pearce (violin) and Ruth Boston (piano). All other music was the bride’s work on her trusty iPad!
The Details + Décor…
The details and the décor would not have been so amazing if it wasn’t for the help of Joelle at MLW and Emma from the Montgomerie. Emma was the reason we chose The Montgomerie and she went above and beyond to help out in every way. Everyone was so accommodating and supportive for what we wanted and pointed us to the best suppliers for us to deal with. We tried to keep our theme simple yet fun – a reflection of our personalities. Pastel colors everywhere, balloons and pompoms, a table with childhood sweets that we brought from Lebanon and the UK, a photo booth that people absolutely loved (and we have the pictures to prove it) and a DJ that got us going all night. We provided ladies with pashminas as it was still a bit cold in the evenings and flip flops that helped keep them dancing all night long. We had candy jars on all tables filled with marshmallows, gummy bears and jelly beans and our menu consisted of seated starters and dessert and an open buffet, barbeque style, main. It worked so well and allowed everyone to mingle and meet.
The Honeymoon…
We went to South Africa for 10 days after the wedding, and we are about to go on a longer honeymoon to the US in June.
Memorable moments…
G: Walking down the aisle with our friends playing the violin and the electric keyboard – AMAZING! Seeing everyone on the dance floor the entire time – it felt like everyone was there to have fun.
K: Looking up and seeing Ghina walking down the aisle. Even though we had had a civil wedding and traditional wedding, it didn’t hit me until then.
Our wedding cake in a jar…
That was the first thing we decided on – even before the venue and the date – we knew that Jarful was the way forward for us – it is a great idea and all out guests loved it so much that they ended up taking 5 and 6 jars back home 🙂
Advice for other couples…
G: Be involved in planning and creating your wedding and make sure it reflects you as a couple.
K: Remember that it’s ‘your’ wedding. Everyone has opinions but yours are the only ones that count.
All in all – it was the wedding of our dreams, our third wedding (to one another obviously) and it just turned up even better than we had wished for.

By the way.. the # sign has been used so many times between myself and Ghina, that I just had to use in the title of this blog. I’m sure she is smiling right now 🙂 #ilovemybrides
