Hello from Italy! I’m away for the week but managed to get some time on the computer this morning to finish putting together this blog about Beljour I recently had lunch with Shari, the founder of Beljour at Paul, MOE. We see each other at industry events and have lots of mutual wedding friends but until now we hadn’t sat down and had a good old wedding natter. It was lovely to hear about all her new plans; she’s expanding the business, moving location and has some very exciting projects coming up. She also has a new bespoke collection called Debutante. She’s in the process of moving her studio Downtown which is going to be so awesome for brides-to-be on the hunt for a wedding dress. Location is everything, and for me Downtown is where it’s at. (OK, so Downtown is close to my house so maybe I am a little bias lol) Anyway… I’m excited to share a little info about Beljour and hopefully help some of you lovely brides find your wedding dress…
About Beljour – The Story
The craft and technique represented in their design brought them admiration and support among media and women entrepreneurs, soon they had been invited to wedding fairs in luxury and five star wedding and fashion venues. They have been featured in leading magazines and more than 200 brides , celebrities and women entrepreneurs wear their unique gowns on their special day or evening.
They have been called one of the best bridal boutiques in Dubai and highlighted among the best designer houses in the UAE. Moving forward they have launched their first international bridal look book and collection in September 2015 and are planning the official launch of their first international design house to be opened in Dubai in November 2015.
Their new line of luxury and colourful red carpet cocktail gowns is in design process and the collection is set to be shot by the end of October 2015 and showcased in November 2015. The collection carries more than 100 hours of pure handwork on each design and the art of handcrafted embroidery is highlighted.
Their one-of-a-kind bridal bespoke and couture collection will be launched and showcased in the buyer show , London , United Kingdom next year, 2016 to show off the gowns with more than 700 hours of pure craft and art techniques, bead and thread embroideries and art of lace work.
A little bit about Shari…
I am always drawn back to all those little details that mattered in the past and now, by time, we are getting far from them.
There was a time that a woman’s beauty was assisted by a team of expert, talented and creative hands. So pure and rich. There was a period where gowns were crafted and embroidered usually for the pleasure of the person who was making them, and intricate details were created on pieces that nobody saw, unique and individual.
From the same tradition is where Beljour was founded , collections that carry a traditional feel of a modern gown.
Here is our something new for you on your special occasion. An attire that will last and save the memories of those moments , laughter and tears of joy. A piece that have an art of other women’s embroidering and sewing, A piece of their life that they gave to create a piece of yours.
I fall in love, I thank god for making it possible for me to be a dreamer , to celebrate a blessing life and to dream of others’ dream to come true.
While I’m here I’d also like to wish the Royal family my deepest condolences during this difficult time after the the tragic loss of Sheikh Rashid Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, just 34, who has died from a heart attack. Our prayers are with you.
