If you haven’t been to Mayflower flower shop, then you must note it down on your ‘to do’ list right now. I have to be honest, until last week I hadn’t been there, however since they opened last October I have been eyeing them up every time I drove down Sheikh Zayed Road. It’s just past the Oasis Center and very easy to get to. The shop really is so gorgeous, and it’s so different to what you normally find in Dubai. It’s a breath of fresh air. All I wanted to do was sit down, have a cup of tea and pretend that this flower shop was actually my little home.
The shabby chic touches and vintage inspired decor really bring the whole concept together. And believe it or not the flowers are so reasonable, so much better than any supermarket or flower shop in Dubai. I picked up a massive bouquet of flowers for my friend and spent only AED100. I even asked the guy behind the counter if he was charging me the correct amount. (next time I promise to take a photo :-))
So as I do, I went home and got in touch with the owner, who is a very sweet lady called Mona. We arranged to meet and I discovered that she opened the flower shop because she loves flowers, and it’s always been a dream to one day open her very own flower shop. Her and her husband packed in their day jobs and put their heart and soul into making Mayflower the most lovely flower shop in town.
