Surprisingly this well known Yacht Club are rather busy with celebrations and weddings over the cooler months. With a small function room, a perfectly grassed lawn and a great view… this venue is perfect for a wedding of 80 guests of less. Most brides will often feel challenged and fustracted when looking for their wedding venue. The minimum spends, the booking restrictions, and the general cost of having a wedding in a fancy 5 star hotel can be overbearing. I personally found this part of the planning process difficult, and my dream of a beach wedding lit by candle light, soon vanished after I struggled to find a venue suitable for only 65 guests. Don’t get me wrong, things have changed since I got engaged in December 2012 and there are lots of new hotels opening up around the city.
It was only last year that I discovered Dubai Marina Yacht Club. Little did I know that this property is owned by Emaar. It’s part of the leisure group, which also includes The Address Montgomerie Dubai, Dubai Polo & Equestiran club and Arabian Ranches Golf Club. Not many people connect them together, and once they do it’s almost like a sigh of relief.. why? Because you know the food will be good. I know the events team at the Yacht Club, and in December 2013 helped style a DIY Tipi wedding for one of my lovely brides Claudia. {full feature coming soon}
It gave me reassurance knowing that the staff were all very friendly, and very helpful too. Working alone as a stylist I often find myself needing a little extra help now and again. For example, drapping tassels from one end of a room to the other. Believe it or not, it’s not a one man job.
Anyway, you get the point. The team are great, the venue is cool and it won’t break the bank.
