I’ve been hassling Bernie for his latest weddings for ages and finally I have this beautiful Dubai wedding to share with you all today. Bernie and Bindi had an amazing wedding season and this is just one of many lovely weddings that they captured on camera.
Laura and Mat got married last April at One and Only, Palm Dubai which followed with a stunning outdoor reception at One and Only Royal Mirage. The guests were treated to a cocktail infused yacht ride across the waters while cruising by one Dubai’s most famous skylines at sunset. It sounds rather perfect doesn’t it.
The brides dress was bought in Belgium and tailored to fit by my wonderful friend Anne at Montexa tailors in Satwa. Anne also tailored my very own vintage dress so I know first hand how amazing she is. Scroll down for pretty pictures…
What they said about Bernard & Bindi…
“What struck me the most about Bernie & Bindi when we contacted them by e-mail was not only their prompt response but their approachable tone of voice which immediately drew me towards them.
When we met, they were laid back, relaxed and were extremely flexible in terms of meeting us at the end of the day in a place that was convenient for us.
They were pretty upfront on their availability and yet made it sound that they would try their very best to accommodate one way or another. When asked about their experience in wedding photography especially, they responded by giving us stories about the couple, and that just made us more excited and a little snapshot on how they work. They then asked us about our story, and shared theirs, and I felt that this was very important as they truly cared about listening to us and how we worked as a couple and our life we had already shared together.
It sounded perfect from the get go- with Bindi who would blend more in the background and shooting what unfolds naturally and Bernie who creates a more visible presence by giving some direction and choreographing shots, for example those all important family /wedding party photos.
I think this is what distinguishes them as photographers as they work harmoniously as a team.
The thing that blew me away was after we had the informal agreement to have this wonderful couple, I got a call from one of the organisers of our location about the upcoming event and she mentioned that Bernie & Bindi came to have a look around and see the surrounding areas and where the best shots were to be taken. This not only shows their professionalism but their efficiency and knowledge of how hectic the actual day can be, and not to waste time looking around but already have some schedule/ plan in place and a knowledge of the environment they would be shooting!
They were extremely punctual and efficient as I had requested they go to the site where the evening reception would take place in order to capture some of the details in the light- and they did that and managed to be on time at the venue where I was getting ready! Both were calm presences in the room and just let everything roll out smoothly. I liked the fact that Bernie asked and wrote down all the important people and their names, which shows how they had understood us as a couple, and that the wedding was about the people having come over from all over the globe and not just us.
As every bride would probably say, the day is pretty hectic, and you are thinking about all the details, however Bernie was able to shoot lots of pictures and I didn’t event realize he was there at times!
The photos turned out great, everyone raved about how they loved Bernie’s sense of humor and putting everyone at ease and how Bindi’s ninja style of shooting was great as she was spotted on some occasions behind a pillar or a palm tree!
The cherry on the cake was after the wedding: we got a call from them wanting to meet about 4 weeks after the wedding. We were worried they were going to bare the bad news that something had happened to the photos. But no, this amazing couple just wanted to touch base with us and meet us after all the commotion had settled and go through the pictures with us!!! Yay! What an experience, and this shows the true passion they both have- to want to come and personally deliver the photos rather than drop them off and watch the expression on our faces and discuss the funny stories behind some of the more comical shots of the day.
All in all, I would recommend these two any day, and for any occasion as they are chameleons, and the simple fact of listening to what the couple want, and striving hard to achieve it shows their passion towards their work”
