What’s better than a really gorgeous engagement shoot to brighten up your Wednesday afternoon? Um… nothing. I met Bea, the lovely bride-to-be at The Wedding Fair last month. She stopped at my stand for a chat and she told me all about her engagement shoot with fiance Christopher. Of course, I immediately got excited and asked to feature it on My Lovely Wedding. #Londonlove
Names…. Belinda Bowles & Christopher Ellaby
Wedding Date…. Due to get married on 9/8/2014
The Venue… Photos were taken in Hyde Park as we were in London for the day. Chris’ sister-in-law, Daiga Ellaby, had flown over from Latvia to celebrate Chris’s 30th. We had always planned to do a photo-shoot for her portfolio, but then Chris proposed the night before, so it became an engagement shoot! We chose Hyde Park because we wanted to find open space, trees and grass – neither of us are that into big cities so we wanted it to be more natural. Daiga also has a real gift for shooting outdoor scenes so we got the best for all of us 🙂
Neither Chris nor I are very patient or happy in front of the camera lens so Daiga worked her magic in less than 1 hour. She gave great direction, and was fun to work with. It was a bit strange for Chris and I to be posing for such ‘lovey’ shots, but Daiga made us feel comfortable and we really enjoyed it in the end. She took hundreds of photos, but I’m just sharing our favourites with you. Hopefully she will be snapping away on our big day too because her photos are stunning 🙂
The Proposal… Chris arranged a date night for us at our favourite restaurant overlooking the canal in Reading – it was the same place where he asked me out… and after dinner, outside under the stars he got down on one knee and asked the big question…I’m not ashamed to say there were tears – happy ones of course!
The Vision for the day…. It’s a surprise 😉 watch this space
Thanks to Daiga Ellaby for taking such lovely images…
Have a lovely afternoon everyone xx
