Love Letters – A blog by Monica at MHG Beauty.

I met the love of my life when I was 10 years old. I used to write letters often to him. It was always easier for me to express my feelings through writing and something about putting words on a piece of paper that would stand the test of time made it that much more romantic.
Our blog series that begins today is inspired by love stories around the world. Today’s is dedicated to long distance relationships. And so our story shoot series begins….
Ann, our story protagonist waits patiently for her boyfriend’s love letters in the mail, she can’t wait to read about his adventures and to learn when he will be coming to visit her. A vintage typewriter, from lovely Paula Scalco’s treasures, set the tone for these amazing images we share with you today.

The model’s look was inspired by our props, we went back in time to the wonderful 1950’s. For the first look, I created a pinup hairstyle and very natural everyday makeup. Dewy, glowy skin, naturally filled in brows, soft rosy cheeks, mascara and soft pink highlighted lips.
One day, Ann receives a letter from her beloved Lee and with it comes a beautiful rose, a ring and the words will you marry me?……. She is so happy to know that they will no longer be distant, she sits near the window waiting for him and soon their wedding day comes.

The wedding day look is vintage meets 2017 loveliness. A smokey burgundy eye look that brings out our model’s green beautiful eyes, long lashes, softly contoured features, pink blush and soft pink lips. For the hair, we went with a classic updo completed with a very special headpiece by vanilla wedding boutique. We then changed the hairstyle to make it more modern for those of you who like more of a relaxed kind of look. We went for a messy low ponytail, who doesn’t love those?
