My lovely wedding updates….

Hello beautiful people!
Did you like my earlier post about Charlie? I hope so!
This weekend was rather productive on the wedding front. Nathan and I finally got our wedding text printed and I had my first dress fitting with Anne from The Bridal Room. We are hand making all of our wedding invitations but had the text printed at Flying Colors in DMC to stick inside. It’s quite crafty and so far looking pretty good. I started putting them together last night, I only had an hour in between coming home from the printers and going back out to see Spiderman in 3D.. OMG amazing!! I’d love to share a picture of my dining room table but I’m slightly embarrassed, it’s a complete mess, well an organized mess. 😉 I promise to show you the finished product very soon…
 My vintage dress…
So my dress fitting was pretty good. I walked into the tailors in Satwa and opened the door to see a beautiful fellow bride-to-be standing there with her wedding dress. I actually got quite a surprise, of course it was a pleasant one. She had a subtle tan, lovely clear skin and looked like she was just about ready to walk the aisle. We managed to have a quick chat while she was having her dress fitted, she is getting married in only 6 weeks!  It made me feel rather organized, maybe too organized for having a dress fitting 6 months before my wedding. Ah well, I’m proud of being a wedding geek 😉
So after Gemma, my fellow bride-to-be had left I had a lovely chat with Anne, the owner of the Bridal Room. I had a feeling I was going to like Anne before I even met her, I think it was her lovely British accent that gave me some ease about getting my very delicate vintage wedding dress altered in Dubai.  I been told by so many people that she is the only person to go to for your wedding dress and I’m happy to confirm the rumors 🙂 She’s amazing!

She’s been making wedding dresses for 30 years. Can you imagine how many dresses that would be? And how many smiling faces walk out the door with their dream dress. It almost gives me butterflies.
While I was standing there in my 1970’s vintage dress – Anne and her assistant Rosie got to work and we discussed my options for alerting my dress. I’m very happy to say that I don’t need that much done and it should be pretty easy too. We also discovered a few tiny holes in the lace but that’s to be expected, its vintage. I like to think it adds character to the dress.  I also discovered that she can make everything for me, from my maid of honors dress, my bridesmaid dress and all the threads for the groomsmen. Amazing!! I How convenient is that?
So I’ll leave you with a few sneaky photos from her tailors in Satwa and I’ll be reporting back in about 3 weeks with a full report from The Bridal Room and their full collection of wedding dresses.
