We are starting our week with a gorgeous real wedding feature and I personally am so excited I get to write about this one because it’s all about a very lovely couple who found love in Scotland – my home! I have to say when beautiful bride Natalie told us about their amazing first date walking the cliffs around Dunnottar Castle in Scotland followed by fish & chips out of paper, I got a huge twinge of homesicknesses, especially when they said they had a deep-fried Mars Bar – you don’t get much more Scottish than that 🙂
Natalie and Lewis got married at Al Qasr hotel on the 6th November 2015 in a beautiful romantic beach setting with the blessing being conducted right on the shoreline. Our lovely bride Natalie went above and beyond to bring the wonderful history of Scotland to the sunshine of Dubai, with all things Scottish. The groomsmen wore traditional highland dress while a piper played bagpipes for the procession and recession. “It was wonderful to hear the gentle melody of the bagpipes against the sound of the waves from the beach,” Natalie tell us.
We couldn’t help but “awww” when groom Lewis showered his new wife with kudos for all her hard work: “Natalie put so much effort into organizing all the special little things that come together to make the wedding unique; the lighting, handmade signposting, table decorations, wishing willow etc. are all products of her own imagination. But I think having the actual blessing on the beach is unique to the majority of guests who are coming from the UK. I’m not sure there has ever been a beach wedding in Scotland.” Okay that last part made us laugh – so true!
Oh it sounds so amazing – and thanks to the lovely girls at The Studio Dubai we got to see it all.
The couple talk about their shared love as foodies and and note planning the 4 course menu as one of their highlights; “Al Qasr Hotel prepared Haggis, a traditional Scottish dish, as part of the menu, and we received huge compliments for the chef for how it was prepared”, says Natalie while Lewis tell us that is was almost worth having a whole other wedding just to do the food tasting at Al Qasr again – we can only imagine!
As well as a 3 tier wedding cake, the couple also had Cake Pops & Cup Cakes made by The Cake Heaven, which our bride tell us were amazing!
Thank you so much to Natalie and Lewis for sharing their magical day with us here at MLW, we wish you a lifetime of happiness together! A huge thank you to The Studio for capturing it all perfectly.
