Good afternoon lovely readers! If you’re getting married in the UAE later this year then I know you will be at the stage where you will be getting into details just about now, maybe sourcing inspiration from blogs like MLW or browsing over Pinterest and loosing hours of your time… because all brides like pretty pictures. I often find myself browsing for the web for inspiration and wasting half a day just on Pinterest. I’m not only in love with weddings, and DIY decor but home interiors too. Some would say I’m slightly addicted.
We live in world where ‘Googling’ has become a part of our daily routine, and we use it for everything. From planning your wedding to self diagnosing that headache you’ve had for over two weeks. (you know exactly what I’m talking about) It can be a little dangerous and it can also contribute to a wild imagination. But then again, a wild imagination can only be a good thing. It helps the creative juices to flow… especially when planning your wedding.
So today I’ve put together a little list of some of my favorites places online.
Not on the High Street – http://www.notonthehighstreet.com
Good for… Everything! They are based in the UK and have a huge selection of goodies on sale. You will find lots of handmade gifts which you just can’t find here in Dubai. Think pretty decor, table centerpieces, stationery and pretty much anything else related to modern and stylish weddings. It’s a great a place for discovering new online boutiques too. Oh and pet accessories… if you have pets obviously.
Pinterest – http://www.pinterest.com/
Good for… Inspiration! If you’re planning your wedding or any event for that matter you MUST sign up to Pinterest. It’s basically like an online mood board. You pin pictures you like to your own Pinterest page. Simple but such a genius idea! It will inspire you daily. It’s also fab for home interiors, food, fashion and pretty much anything else.
Wedding of my Dreams – http://www.theweddingofmydreams.co.uk
Good for… Pretty accessories for your wedding. They sell everything from stationery to bunting to lovely little vases. They also have a blog full of wedding inspiration, which I’m sure every bride will love as much as I do.
Polyvore – http://www.polyvore.com/
Good for… The creative bride with a flare for fashion. Created for the online fashion world Polyvore is easy to use, gets your creative juices going and will inspire you to shop online. Every image is linked back to a website. It’s very clever indeed!
Moushii – http://www.moushii.com/
Good for… Party supplies and paper straws. Based in the UAE this lovely little online party store is one of my favorites. They have a small but good selection of paper plates, retro straws and other party goods. It’s perfect for anyone planning a hen party or a baby shower in Dubai.
Love Notes – http://ilovenotes.net/
Good for… Stationery! Love Notes is a cute online store which sell customised note books and paper goods. Great for friendly gifts and wedding guest favors too. If you like that sort of thing 🙂
Amazon – https://www.amazon.co.uk/
Good for… Hmmm pretty much everything. You probably all know it but it had to be added to my list.
Pipii uk – http://www.pipii.co.uk/weddings.html
When I got married I bought lots of little accessories from Pipii. I bought milk bottles, paper straws and other accessories for wedding day. I think I liked them a lot because they are small company… and they always delivered on time. I still buy bits and pieces from them every few months. Luckily I have my Mum in the UK to store all my online purchases. Hehe thanks Mum. The are good for straws, milk bottles and other cute wedding day accessories.
OK lovelies… I’m off to organise myself. I got home from a styled shoot this afternoon and my office is now a big retro mess. 🙂 Photos coming soon!
