Spring Excite! {A styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events}

OMG do I have a fabulous blog for you today. My fellow wedding industry friend Mennat at Cloud 9 Weddings and Events created a masterpiece of a styled shoot. The photography, the styling, the colours… awh… how I love this wedding industry so much. It makes me happy knowing that the UAE is literally oozing with talented and creative souls. Enjoy my lovelies!

The Theme: Spring Excite by Mennat at Cloud 9 Weddings & Events.
This shoot was aimed to create a buzz in Abu Dhabi for ‘fine art’ weddings and showcase how to create a relaxed version of two different types of spring palettes.
Each bridal look targeted a specific type of bride. The first look, a more bold and dramatic one, I created for Modern Arab brides, whether expat or local. In other words, those who want a Western feel with what they view to be a more traditional palette (reds, etc). The dress was all lace, which Arabic brides also love. Along with this look, I created two table set ups using gold detail and florals that complimented the reds of the bride’s makeup look. The table set up included a runner with vows of a bride & groom and DIY spray painted gold candles by Cloud 9. The floral palette was as close as possible to the pantone colour of the year and they were arranged in an English garden style.

The second look, is a modern day softer bride with a sense of fashion and a free spirit. These can be more European brides. You will notice in some of the images the model is in a big dress and a pullover! This look is tailored to those who love blush hues. I added a floral crown because I feel brides in Abu Dhabi especially, are still afraid of experimenting with this trend. This might motivate them to try something new.
The amazing Natasha, from Glossy Make up, created two main makeup looks. The first look was a more heavy and dramatic look, just the way Emiratis traditionally like it, and a table set up to compliment the look (in shades of burgundy and red) that was more foreign and new to this market. The second makeup look is aimed for European brides who prefer to go with a more natural look.

The photographer, Joem Aldea, is an up and coming freelance photographer in the UAE whose inspiration is Jose Villa among many others. He was my choice for taking these photos mainly because his work portfolio showed me that he really understands how to work with natural light.
The venue is Asia de Cuba Abu Dhabi, which is a relatively new entertainment and dining venue in the capital. I was so inspired by the wood in their outdoor area and the beautiful interior detail in their indoor restaurant area. The 19th century inspired columns, and ceiling high windows were the perfect setting to have the table set up shots taken.
In conclusion, the shoot is aimed not only at showcasing the styling but also to celebrate brides. A confident and fun bride, no matter how bold or daring her style, who wants to eat her cake too!  Styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events Styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events Styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events Styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events Styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events Styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events Styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events Styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events Styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events Styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events Styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events   Styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events Styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events   Styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events Styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events Styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events Styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events Styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events Styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events Styled shoot by Cloud 9 Weddings & Events
