Saied and Fatema got married on the 22nd February 2013. They married at the stunning Park Hyatt Hotel in Abu Dhabi. I must say it’s a lovely venue, and I myself even looked at it for my wedding day. If you’re still Over 130 guests joined this beautiful couple to celebrate in style.
Fatema discovered Blue Eye Picture through My Lovely Wedding.com and booked Gregory & Dorota for her wedding. I’m guessing it was their style, and creative ways that won her over! Dubai Wedding photographers, Blue Eye Picture captured their wedding day from every angle and the results are stunning. Fatema looks exquisite in her Vera Wang dress and diamond accessories. Ahhh I have bridal envy again.
And onto the details…
Budget….
We didn’t start off with any specific budget but just tried to cut down on things that weren’t so important to us in order not to go overboard with the budget.
The Dress + Accessories…..
Vera Wang “June” (Yes, we are all very jealous ;-))
My accessories were a diamond bracelet, diamond ring (a gift from my mom) and diamond earrings.
Finding the dress….
I travelled to New York last December to search for my wedding dress with my best friend Noha of 15 years who lives in Chicago. I had to buy off the rack since I was only a couple of months away from my wedding. I got lucky and found the perfect dress for me. It was unique yet feminine which was exactly what I was looking for.
Groom’s attire…
Saied got his Tuxedo in Kuwait where his family lives.
Beautiful bridesmaids…..
My beautiful bridesmaids included my sister and my best friend, I had them wear a light shade of pink in any style they chose.
The Flowers…
The flowers were white and pale pink roses and peonies (my favorite flower), my bouquet was made entirely of orchids.
The Cake…
The cake was made by the Park Hyatt Hotel, I gave them a photo of a cake I liked and they copied it exactly!
The Details + Décor….
Saied lived in Kuwait up until one week before the wedding, so most of the planning was done by myself and my mom. I tried to do many of the details myself as I really do enjoy this process and there are so many fun ideas to be found on the internet. Our guestbook was a polaroid in which guests had their photos taken and pasted in our guestbook along with a message. We had personalized napkins, Hershey kisses and gave the guests pearl bracelets (for the ladies) and rosaries (for the men) as favors. All of our flowers and décor were done in white and very pale pink colors.
The Music….
We had a great DJ who kept us dancing all night long. We also had a zaffa and a traditional Iraqi dance performer.
Memorable moments…
The amazing feeling of being surrounded by friends and family who truly care about you and the moment my mom gave me a diamond ring of hers that I’ve admired since I was 10!
The Honeymoon….
Our two-week honeymoon in Thailand was truly perfect, we visited the cities of Bangkok, Chang Mai and Phuket.
Advice for other couples…
This great advice was given to me and was almost impossible to follow: don’t fret over the little things and just try to enjoy this time and focus on your partner and this amazing step you are taking together. After all this is said and done you will not remember the details (I have realized this trying to answer these questions) but will always remember the special moments you had together during this day.
Credit for suppliers& friends…
Clementine from the Park Hyatt was amazing in providing emotional support during this time and making sure that I was as happy as possible. I have worked with her before and she is one of the reasons that I picked the Park Hyatt as my wedding venue.
Mohammad, my manager at work was also extremely helpful during this time, we work together in events and he was a great resource and support, he also acted as my wedding planner on the day of the wedding.
Most of all, I cannot thank my sister Zainab, my mom and my best friend Noha for really putting up with me during this time with smiles on their faces, I really couldn’t have gone through this journey without them. Also, to the friends and family who travelled all the way from Canada, U.S, U.K, New Zealand, Kuwait and Bahrain, thank you for taking the time out your of your busy lives to celebrate with us.
