So my good friend and beauty lover Monica has been contributing to MLW for a while now. She steps in and shares her beauty knowledge (something I’m not very good at) and often creates the most interesting blog features. She’s my favourite. I have to admit I feel a little bad because I’ve been sitting on this blog post a for about 2 weeks. I’ve been non stop with baby and work and the blog has been the last thing on my mind. So why do I feel bad? Because it’s just so blooming pretty!!!
When your favourite Dubai wedding vendors get together you know it’s going to be special. I feel like we are starting the week off on a high… and heres why.
Vintage Soul Bride
Have you ever thought you should have been born in another era? I used to, until I realized it’s actually pretty cool to be part of this one because that way I get to choose what I love from each time period and recreate different looks instead of having to stick to one. Yet there’s always that special one that grabs your attention and that feels close to your heart. You can totally incorporate this on your wedding day and this is why we decided on putting together a vintage photo shoot just for you.
As I have mentioned on previous blogs, I think everything in your wedding should come together. There should be a certain harmony not only in your complete bridal makeup and hair look as well as your dress, but the groom’s look, your styling, flowers, and something very important, your photographer. The way he or she captures light and emotion will be your forever memory.
Make sure you surround yourself with professionals that understand both your ideas and taste. Show them images of what you like and I think even describing in words what you want it to feel like helps set the scenery. Make the decisions, choose your preferences, and once that’s done, trust the professionals you hired, relax and enjoy.
We had the privilege of having gorgeous Elena as our model. The vintage look on her, I’m sure you can agree, is just stunning.
Vanila Wedding Boutique provided us with a dazzling Helen Miller dress, both vintage and modern, just perfect for our setting. They also provided us with several breathtaking handmade headpieces and spectacular earrings that all complemented the look impeccably.
Amazing Photographer Paula Scalco made it all come together, since she is a vintage lover. Her house is like a museum where you find beautiful things and details in every corner. And obviously you can see her love of vintage reflected in her flawless photography.
Blossom Tree Dubai, made a beautiful flower arrangement that Paula used both for styling images and as a bridal bouquet.
As for the makeup and hair look I had to go old Hollywood, very Gatsby. Contoured cat eyes with a soft shimmer eyeshadow on the lid, highlighted cheekbones and of course a signature red lip. I did waves on Elena’s hair and then brushed them slightly to give them a softer look. I put the hair up for some of the images to give you guys ideas on how you can wear your hair up or down and where your headpiece can be placed on your special day.
We hope these images serve as inspiration and remember how important it is to surround yourself with an amazing team that will help you make your dream wedding come true.
Happy Vintage Vibes!
