Wedding Planner… Clare Ebbs

Hello my Lovelies,
It’s Thursday… wahooo! OK So before you leave your desks and head out into the sun for the weekend I thought I’d introduce you to Clare Ebbs. OK, so she’s been mentioned lots of times, but this is the real Clare. She very kindly answered a few questions…

How long have you lived in Dubai?  Over 7 years now
Why did you move to Dubai?  I came to Dubai to work as the Event Manager for a Concert Promoter and fell in love with the place so never moved back to the UK!
What do you love about Dubai?  The fast paced lifestyle – work hard and play hard!  The all year round warm weather and sunshine is a major bonus too…who wouldn’t love going to the beach or lying by the pool at the weekend!
Why did you become a Wedding Planner? I have always loved planning friends weddings and after planning my own wedding in the UK when I was based in Dubai I realised how important and useful it is to have someone manage the details who knows the local suppliers, attend the meetings and more importantly get the best rates!
Can a couple not organise a wedding on their own?  It is possible of course and many brides have their dream weddings playing in their heads from when they are little.  However if you live abroad and want to marry here it is hard to know the best suppliers, and more importantly the most cost effective and reliable suppliers. For those couples that live in Dubai they normally work extremely hard and do not have the time to meet suppliers and bring the wedding details together.
So what types of weddings do you organise?  It ranges from small intimate beach weddings of 20 up to gala party style weddings of 1000 guests. 
Can a Wedding Planner just help on the day?  Yes of course, this is a very popular service that I offer as many brides like to plan the details themselves but I can then step in on the day and manage the logistics (venue set up, band sound checks, guest logistics) so the couple can enjoy every moment of their special day.
Favourite wedding location:  My all time favourite venue’s are the beach hotels (Madinat, Jumeirah Beach hotel, The Westin etc) as these provide the most spectacular settings for your photos – what better than having the Burj Al Arab as the backdrop for your wedding photos??!
What’s your top wedding tip?  PLAN FOR ALL SITUATIONS!!!  Unfortunately suppliers do sometimes (not always though!) let you down so it is sensible to have a back up plan.  If you have a band booked, make sure you have a number of an agency that may be able to provide a last minute option in case there’s an ‘on the day glitch’!
