THROWBACK TO 2015!!!! STYLING THIS WEDDING – A rustic affair at Desert Palm Resort & Spa {Dubai wedding}

*This blog was first published in November 2015. It was the first time I worked with Nabeela Huda and my first wedding at Desert Palm Resort + Spa. Happy Memories 🙂

So my lovelies I have some rather lovely set up shots from one of my November weddings. Usually I have to wait weeks and weeks to see professional images, but thanks to Nabeela Huda I have them now. Yay!!

The Ceremony

For the blessing ceremony we used white fold out chairs from Party Social, which looked perfect against the slightly less perfect venue. Rustic details filled this venue, and if you’re a horse lover, you would be in paradise. The arch is my own which was decorated with flowers by Firenze Flora. Instead of having the usual side ties of flowers, we created two large arrangements at the base and one at the top. Adding a touch of peach to the arch really brought it to life.

The signage

I had large wood boards made in Satwa by my trusty carpenter, and had originally painted them with vanish.. but little did I know that when you used an oil base vanish, vinyl stickers will not stick. So I sanded them down, and painted them with metallic gold spray paint… which actually looked so much better anyway. I truly believe everything happens for a reason. E Walls printed the stickers for me which I applied at home. It took a good two hours to apply all the text to 7 sign boards as there were a lot of small words on the menu but it was worth it. The lovely Mona (My stationery wizard and graphic designer side kick) helped with the design of the text and layout, which made it easier for E Walls to print for the size of the boards.

So the details…

The Dinner Tables

As usual Firenze Flora did a splendid job at arranging the flowers. Directed by myself I know that I wanted the tables to be heavy with greens and having sections of flowers on every other table. I love the peach in this wedding, teamed with a little touch of gold it works so perfectly with the surrounding green venue and rustic wood tables rented from Party Social. Swapping the usual Tiffany chair for clear ghost chairs gave this set up a lightly more modern feel. The dining tables featured gold cutlery and clear gold rim beaded show plates which are also available to rent from Party Social. As you can see it’s rather lovely… if I do say so myself. 😉

The Bar

Man, I do love a good rustic bar. This one was rented from Party Social and I added a few props to bring it to life. You can rent the milk bottles and large drink dispensers as well as the rest of the furniture in the wedding. The wood barrels are a lovely addition to the set up, and are perfect for the venue too. I added the metal buckets and custom made peach glittery wheel barrel, which I crafted the day before and Firenze Flora added some greens for extra prettiness.

Keep an eye out for the full wedding feature coming soon on MLW. I know bride Elaine is going to look so stunning no one is going to take notice of the styling 😉 hence why I’m blogging about it now.
