Why you need a planner (or a stylist)

For most brides planning their wedding is the biggest event they will ever plan. Unless you work in events, and in that case that might not be the case. Or perhaps I should rephrase that…. it will be the one of the most important events of your life, before you have babies, and all that other grown up stuff. I’ve been thinking about this subject a lot, and the more weddings I style, and the more I talk to brides one-on-one, the more I realise the importance of having help on your wedding day.
To break it down for you, I’ve put together 3 options which might be helpful for a bride-to-be in the early stages of planning.
1. Hire a full wedding planner
Hire a planner to work with you, and take care of logistics, organising, and all those time consuming emails. If you’re a busy bride with a demanding job, then this is the perfect solution for you. You’ll get regular updates, full input into all the decision making, and a piece of mind that on the day everything should come to together nicely. You’re wedding planner will be like your personal assistant,  she might even become a good friend.. and most of all she will be responsible for making your dream wedding come to life.

2. Hire a ‘on the day’ wedding planner/ coordinator
Organising your wedding, contacting vendors, and doing the ground work, is what you would need to do yourself.. For many brides, this bit is actually pretty fun, and quite addictive. This is one of the reasons why I launched my blog, to help and inspire brides getting married in Dubai. It makes life that little bit easier having recommended vendors all in one place. I meet all my vendors in person, and that’s the only way I can recommend them to you.
Knowing that you’re hiring recommended vendors can really make the planning bit, that much easier. Once you’ve got all your wedding vendors, you will pass all the contacts onto a ‘on the day’ wedding planner, and he or she will take over for you. As long as your organised then that bit should be pretty easy.

3. Hire a wedding stylist.. me 🙂
You might be thinking ‘what’s a wedding stylist?’ Well, let me explain…
A wedding stylist is a little different from a wedding planner. A planner will manage logistics, help you organize music, vendors and generally make sure everything runs smoothly on the day. As a wedding stylist it’s my job to make sure your wedding has the ‘wow’ factor. It’s about designing the aesthetics of your wedding, and making sure your colour scheme, and overall look and feel to your wedding day is exactly what you want. I focus on the decor side, whereas a planner would focus on everything.
One of the reasons why I started styling is because I’m slightly obsessed with wedding decor and design, and I wanted to help brides decorate their weddings. I’m here to take care of the little details, and make sure that your wedding has that ‘wow’ factor 🙂
